About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Meridian, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer, you will greet associates and visitors, verify identification, manage badge and entry procedures, monitor activity through rounds and observation, and document security-related incidents and requests. You will deliver professional customer service, communicate clearly with site teams, and support a welcoming environment built on integrity, teamwork, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Manage access control for a logistics and distribution location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, controlling entry and exit points, and maintaining access logs.
  • Screen and document inbound and outbound vehicle and trailer traffic, including checking appointments and paperwork, and directing drivers to designated docks and staging areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and documenting events per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, including monitoring gates, yards, and warehouse areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
