About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Cntrol in Lansing, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a healthcare location where you will focus on access control, greeting staff and visitors, verifying credentials, managing badges, and monitoring entry points and cameras. You will complete routine checks, document activity, and communicate clearly to help identify and help to deter security-related concerns while delivering customer service with integrity. This is a driving post and requires a valid drivers license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the location by verifying identification, managing visitor sign-in, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor entry points and surrounding areas for unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access by maintaining a consistent presence and communicating concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, contacting emergency services when directed, and completing required notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas and the perimeter, document observations in reports, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts.
