About The Position

Join Allied Universal at a utilities location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine checks, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor badging, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and deliver strong customer service and communication to onsite teams. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, in an agile, reliable culture built on integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, managing visitor entry, and/or issuing badges or temporary credentials in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yard areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate notable activity during shift turnovers using site-approved systems.
