Security Officer - Access Control Specialist

Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Santa Fe Springs, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor and driver check-ins, and maintain clear access logs. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate quickly with site leadership as conditions change. Bring strong customer service, teamwork, and integrity to support smooth operations.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access at entry and exit points by checking identification, verifying appointments, and directing drivers, visitors, and staff to the proper areas.
- Monitor inbound and outbound traffic flow, including trucks and delivery vehicles, and document arrivals, departures, and other access activity per site requirements.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report concerns through the proper channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, dock areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
