As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and visitors, manage badge access, verify IDs, and monitor entry points to support smooth daily operations. You will complete routine rounds, document security-related activity, and use a computer or tablet to track access logs. Requirements

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying credentials, managing visitor and contractor check-in, issuing badges as directed, and maintaining entry and exit logs for personnel and vehicles.
  • Screen deliveries and inbound and outbound truck traffic by confirming appointments and documentation, directing drivers to designated areas, and communicating issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting details, and assisting with scene control until relieved.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of docks, yard areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, and report hazards or irregularities per post orders.
