As a Security Officer - Access Control Logistics in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. Requirements
- A valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the location by verifying credentials and identifying authorized individuals, helping to deter unauthorized entry.
- Provide customer service to all personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations at the logistics and distribution location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity.
- Communicate clearly with Allied Universal management and site personnel regarding security-related matters and observations.
- Document and report security-related incidents, irregularities, and any unusual circumstances according to company and client guidelines.
- Support emergency response activities when appropriate, following site protocols and Allied Universal procedures.
