About The Position

As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting a utilities location, you will manage access control and badge verification, monitor entry points, and conduct routine patrols while staying highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide customer-focused assistance, document activity, and communicate clearly with site teams. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control entry and exit at gates, lobbies, and/or screening points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing key and badge accountability, and documenting access activity.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site contacts and/or emergency services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around operational areas, buildings, and perimeter routes as directed, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or unusual activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports, maintain required documentation for audits and compliance, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site stakeholders.
