About The Position

As a Security Officer Access Control Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and/or MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access control points by checking identification, authorizations, and/or visitor credentials before permitting entry to designated areas.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site policies, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observed activity through required reports and logs.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entry points, controlled areas, and the perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
