Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Desk Monitor in Newberry, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points and managing badge access at a major food and beverage location. Your presence and attention to detail will help maintain a secure environment, while your customer service skills will support positive interactions with employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor and control access points at the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment.
  • Verify the credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises, ensuring compliance with access control protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, security-related incidents, or policy violations observed during shifts.
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and support operational needs.
