About The Position
As a Security Guard - Full Time - Afternoons in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy manufacturing and industrial location where you will manage access control at key entry points, verify credentials, and direct visitors and deliveries. You will conduct routine patrols and visible presence checks to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to reports with clear communication, and document activity with accuracy. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Staff access control points by verifying identification, screening visitors and vendors, issuing visitor credentials, and/or managing badge access in accordance with site requirements.
- Monitor and document the entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and deliveries, including coordinating with onsite contacts to validate access authorization when needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate parties and completing required reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, building interiors, loading docks, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
