As a Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons in Waterloo, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine patrols, complete detailed reports, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, with time spent moving between areas of the site. You will deliver customer service with clear communication, supported by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven team culture.

Requirements

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and control entry and/or exit in accordance with site procedures, including verifying identification and directing visitors and contractors to proper check-in locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and public responders as needed.
  • Complete routine documentation such as shift logs, incident reports, and patrol activity reports, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site management.
