About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Retail Patrol in Aberdeen, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will engage with guests and store teams through clear communication and customer service, while reporting observations and responding to concerns. Requirements

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and store associates by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floor areas, stock areas, entrances, exits, cart bays and the exterior perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Help to deter theft and other policy violations by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring activity, and reporting suspicious behavior or hazards to store management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing clear directions to patrons and assisting with de-escalation until additional help arrives.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs and patrol documentation; communicate observations and follow-up needs to management and/or law enforcement as directed by site procedures.
