As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor screening as needed. You will deliver clear communication and standout customer service while documenting observations and reporting concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and employees at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials as directed, and assist with visitor processing in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation when appropriate and timely notification to site contacts and/or public resources.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activity in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership per site procedures.
