As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will complete routine foot patrols, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns. You will communicate professionally with residents, staff, and visitors, document observations, and support a welcoming environment through customer service. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will act with integrity and teamwork every shift.

Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely notification to site management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility, common areas, and perimeter to help to deter policy violations, unauthorized entry, and/or disruptive activity.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow as assigned, verify authorization, and document entries, exits, and key activity per site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs on incidents, observations, patrol activity, and resident interactions, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
