As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations and incidents and may use a computer or tablet to complete reports. Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and nearby activity, report security-related concerns, and complete shift logs and incident reports in accordance with post orders.
• Support security-related operations during special events, service disruptions, and/or facility emergencies, including guiding people to designated areas and maintaining controlled movement.
