As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm professionalism. You will communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors, document observations using computer and/or tablet tools, and support a people-first culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, and rooted in integrity and teamwork at Allied Universal.

Requirements

  • Have hospital vaccines.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have CPR certification, preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting, and coordination with site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas and the exterior perimeter, including parking areas, entrances, corridors, and other assigned spaces; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at designated points by monitoring entrances, directing foot traffic, verifying credentials when required, and helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Complete timely security-related reports and logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and assist with preserving the scene for investigations when requested.
