Job Description As a Security Guard - Hospital Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and foster a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the location and remain highly visible while providing exceptional customer service, communication, and support in line with Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism in a healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including both interior areas and the surrounding perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, reporting any unusual or suspicious behavior in accordance with Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals on site, offering guidance and assistance as needed, and collaborating with medical staff when required.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Remain alert to the unique needs of a healthcare location, adapting responses appropriately to interactions with patients, visitors, and medical personnel.
