Job Description As a Security Guard - Government Building Patrol in Sterling, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly with visitors and staff. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned location and its perimeter to support a secure environment.
Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Assist visitors and employees with directions and general inquiries while maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity.
Work closely with Allied Universal management and client representatives to support security-related operations at the location.
