About The Position
As a Security Guard - Full-Time Patrol - Shelter Site in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will support staff and guests with clear communication and customer service, document observations, assist with access control, and respond to concerns with professionalism. Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, residents, guests, and/or staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying site contacts and/or public resources as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location, including interior common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points of entry.
- Monitor for unusual activity, unsecured doors, prohibited items, and/or policy violations, and help to deter issues through presence and timely reporting.
- Complete required reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate observations during shift turnover to support continuity of security-related operations.
