As an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will make routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will document activity and use a computer or tablet to share timely updates. At Allied Universal, you will work with a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, always acting with integrity.

Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, visitor issues, and/or requesting medical staff or law enforcement support as needed.
• Monitor access points, visitor flow, and restricted areas; help to verify identification, direct foot traffic, and/or enforce posted rules in a professional manner.
• Document patrols, incidents, and service requests in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
