As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors with strong customer service, communicate clearly, and document observations and/or concerns. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, campus policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance when needed and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and interior areas, observe for unusual conditions, report hazards and/or maintenance concerns, and assist with directing people to appropriate offices, classrooms, and services.
- Complete daily activity logs and incident reports, communicate via radio and/or phone, and coordinate with campus partners and local responders as directed by post orders.
