Job Description As a Security Guard - Chemical Entry Monitor in Sulphur, LA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional assigned to an access control post within a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role will include engaging with personnel, providing outstanding customer service, and using technology to support daily operations. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the site, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors entering the chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to access control, including checking identification and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with inquiries related to access and security-related matters.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for unusual activity.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site policies and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to established procedures.
