As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, providing a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card or License is required.
  • Level III Armed Certification is required for Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for and report suspicious activity, hazards, or unusual conditions within the location.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Control access to restricted areas and verify credentials as required.
  • Document security-related incidents and complete detailed reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
  • Follow site-specific protocols for handling emergencies and/or critical incidents.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to dynamic situations that may arise in a utility environment.
