As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm, professional communication. You will document observations, assist staff and visitors, and collaborate with local partners as needed. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a readiness to act with integrity, teamwork, and care.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
  • Have an armed guard card/license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associates Degree or 60 college credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, and by supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Perform armed patrol duties, carrying authorized equipment in accordance with licensing requirements and post orders, and maintaining a professional presence that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and public law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, monitoring for unusual conditions, unsecured doors, and other security-related concerns; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access at designated entry points, screen and/or verify identification and credentials when required, document activities and incidents, and complete required reports and logs in a timely manner.
