About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Roving Driver in Lumberton, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, while providing strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supporting mobile patrol coverage as needed. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter points, documenting observations and unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and public agencies as required.
  • Control access at designated posts by verifying identification, authorizations and/or visitor logs, while helping to deter unauthorized entry and contraband activity.
  • Complete detailed reports and shift documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports and equipment checks, and communicate status updates to supervision.
