As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and assist staff and visitors with clear, professional customer service. You will monitor activity, document observations, and communicate concerns promptly to support daily operations. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Handcuffing Certification preferred.
  • Pepper Spray Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and screen for authorized entry as required, including checking credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and/or maintaining visitor logs per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Complete routine reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate pertinent information during shift transitions to support consistent security-related operations.
