About The Position

As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Driver in Spruce Pine, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas through routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to reports with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset to support staff and visitors every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to on-site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating by radio and/or phone with site leadership and public agencies as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization, and document visitor, vehicle, and contractor activity according to post orders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and assist with searches for prohibited items and/or response to alarms as directed by site policy.
