As an Armed Patrol Officer at a critical utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to issues with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post, so you will move between areas as needed while documenting observations and supporting site operations. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and local public services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, substations, yards, and perimeter areas, checking gates, doors, and restricted zones for unusual conditions.
  • Monitor cameras, intrusion detection, and access control systems, documenting activity and reporting suspicious or unauthorized access in accordance with post orders.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements, and site procedures, completing required reports and logs.
