About The Position
As a Security Guard - Armed Mobile Rover in Reston, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic aero and defense location as an armed patrol officer. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that can help to deter incidents, respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, and document security-related activity using site technology. With integrity, teamwork, and a caring people-first culture, you will deliver dependable service and clear communication while supporting mission-focused operations.
Requirements
- Have 1+ Years' Law Enforcement Experience OR 2+ Years' Security Supervisor/Manager Experience OR 3+ Years' Security Experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Having a Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Having CPR Certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
- Carry and operate authorized equipment for an armed post in accordance with Allied Universal protocols, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting, coordination with site contacts, and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support when needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, monitoring deliveries, documenting activity, and helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
