About The Position

As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering people-first customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will represent Allied Universal with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying identification and/or authorization, and screening for prohibited items as required by site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain logs of patrols, incidents, and visitor activity; communicate observations to supervisors and/or site representatives in a timely manner.
