As a Security Guard Access Screening Officer in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. This is a Part-Time Security Officer role where you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. You will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, and conduct routine patrols to discourage security-related incidents at a dynamic utilities location. In this role, you will deliver outstanding customer service and communication, support a caring team environment, and embody agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, issue visitor access instructions, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity, access control issues, and/or conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and pass-down information related to visitor activity, deliveries, key control, and other security-related operations.
