About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to lead and implement advanced cybersecurity solutions in a highly impactful federal environment. You will design secure cloud-native architectures, manage DevSecOps pipelines, and provide technical guidance on vulnerability mitigation and compliance strategies. The position involves close collaboration with agency stakeholders to support mission-critical systems while applying modern security frameworks such as Zero Trust and NIST RMF. Ideal candidates are hands-on engineers with strong cloud, automation, and security architecture experience, capable of translating complex technical concepts into actionable solutions. You will lead teams, drive security initiatives, and influence strategic decisions while working in a supportive, mission-driven environment that values excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud architecture, or DevSecOps.
  • Expertise in AWS GovCloud and Azure Government environments.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Jenkins.
  • Experience with network isolation tools such as Palo Alto NGFW and Juniper Mist NAC or equivalents.
  • Proven ability to secure modern applications, APIs, and automated infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to brief senior leadership effectively.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or technical equivalent; 13 years of relevant experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design secure cloud and on-premise architectures for federal systems.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning and policy enforcement.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and policy-as-code (PaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Provide engineering and technical analysis for System Security Plans, Risk Assessments, and POA&Ms.
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies for security vulnerabilities and compliance findings.
  • Align security architectures with Federal Zero Trust strategy, agency directives, and OMB policies.
  • Lead teams to deliver cybersecurity solutions, facilitate working sessions, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Enable automation of telemetry and analytics pipelines to enhance cyber situational awareness.
