About The Position

The Security and Safety Specialist acts as the single point of contact regarding security, safety, environmental health and training on the project or construction site and is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Construction Security, Safety, Environmental Health and Training Plan. The Security and Safety Specialist will maintain direct contact with government/customer and local security, safety and environmental agencies, contractors, and company management. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions and adhere to construction industry safety and environmental health standards closely. The work locations are often in austere outdoor environments and the selected candidates will be expected to work under all types of weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Previous Military/ Law Enforcement training (preferred)
  • In place of the education requirement, additional relevant work experience and/or trade school may be acceptable
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Tower Industry field or
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Security/Safety related field or
  • Minimum 2 years Military / Law Enforcement related field position
  • Current Driver’s license
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship
  • AHA CPR, 1ST Aid, AED certification
  • OSHA 10 General Industry Safety & Health certification
  • COMTRAIN Authorized & Competent Climber/Rescuer certification
  • COMTRAIN Rigging certification
  • Or the ability to obtain any outstanding certifications within six months
  • Ability to review and understand potential security, safety and environmental health threats to the workforce and implement training and course material to promote understanding and to reduce the threat
  • Ability to quickly identify and mitigate risks and manage difficult or highly volatile situations using problem-solving and communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s security and safety policies and program.
  • Attend security briefings, training sessions, and inspections.
  • Work in a security orientated, responsible manner without intentional or unintentional Security, Safety, Quality, or Environmental risks that could cause harm to oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Cooperate with employees, supervisors, managers, investigators and external entities to ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company and customer’s Security, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Identify, document, and report Security, Safety, and Environmental violations to the appropriate personnel, supervisors and managers as required.
  • Promote and adhere to the company’s training program.
  • Monitor and track all company training as required.
  • Support training classes and inspections.
  • Conduct training in a safe, responsible manner without intentional or unintentional risks for injuring oneself or endanger others' wellbeing.
  • Cooperate with employees, supervisors, managers, and external entities to ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company and customer’s training Security, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Identify and report Security and Safety violations to appropriate personnel, supervisors, managers as required.
  • Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the project and the organization.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees, contractors, and customers to exchange information and gather ideas for continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other company personnel to meet organizational and project deadlines, metrics, and mission objectives.
  • Perform timecard updates daily and sign timecards weekly to support project reporting and payroll activities.
  • Perform job-related documentation and reporting requirements in accordance with company policy, per contract and SKSG corporate policies, including the development of inputs and support of customer deliverables as they are defined.
  • Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Keep assigned vehicle clean and orderly.
  • Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner.
