About The Position

The Secondary Slitter Operator has an essential role within production. This position is responsible for slitting rolls of film in accordance with schedule, performing accompanying transactions and tasks, while keeping ahead of the line. A successful person in this position demonstrates good communication skills and commitment to the quality of work that will result in customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Only Associates Operators or Operators, in good standing with their current position benchmarks complete and more than 90 days of service, are eligible to bid.
  • No written warnings for attendance or performance in the past twelve (12) months.
  • Must have at least an achieving PAR score.
  • Employees who were recently promoted into their current position are not eligible to bid to another position for a period of 6-months.
  • Employees bidding on a promotional opportunity will be given point values based on their performance evaluations, attendance, interview, and qualifications (Related experience, training, and education outweighs service.). If qualifications are equal, seniority will be used.
  • The employee who is awarded this position will be expected to complete a training period in which the employee will demonstrate their ability and initiative to learn different tasks through completing skill sets, practical walk-throughs and testing. This is part of the qualification process.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and follows all Operating instructions and Plant Safety Rules
  • Focus attention on process and finishing equipment
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient troubleshooting for equipment issues
  • Works with the entire shift as a team to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
  • Completes all required safety activities on time
  • Understands and follows all the Quality procedures pertinent to the job
  • Communications with shift relief on operations for past 12 hours on performance and equipment issues, action taken and results
  • Follow all housekeeping guidelines
  • Works to resolve quality issues, equipment problems, or people issues until an adequate solution is attained.
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve problems to produce quality film
  • Perform assigned Good Manufacturing Practice Regulations (GMP) activities in the individual’s work area as defined.
  • Report any known or discovered contamination or other food safety risk to product to their direct supervisor immediately.
  • Operates a variety material handling vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes all required safety activities as outlined in plant safety rules.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to succeed and develop skills within the company.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
