About The Position

Slitter Operator with Sets up, operates, and produces slit products using equipment in a safe manner, following specifications, and ensuring quality products are sent out on time in full.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. experience in an industrial manufacturing environment operating complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation practices required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Level II requires an excellent understanding of GMP requirements and the Oliver Tolas Quality System.
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Employee is required to stand, bend, kneel, walk, sit, balance, handle or feel objects; tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel (US and internationally)
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and observes all safety rules when operating the slitting machine and lifting hoist.
  • Sets up, runs, and monitors the slitting machine while ensuring processing parameters are controlled and well documented.
  • Regulates, operates, and adjusts equipment and controls to produce products in accordance with manufacturing and customer specifications and quality standards. Verifies output for slit width, and other technical standards utilizing the Quality Assurance department when appropriate.
  • Ensures finished product is properly packaged and labeled according to customer specific work order instructions.
  • Completes preventive maintenance tasks consistent with work instructions and PM documentation system requirements including knife maintenance, and shaft maintenance.
  • Ensures paperwork is complete and accurate per GMP and quality system requirements.
  • Perform housekeeping duties according to established 5S standards. Maintains and continuously improves department organization to promote a safe and organized work area.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities through the use of Lean Manufacturing techniques. Offers suggestions and helps to implement waste reduction activities.
  • Follows job spec accurately
  • Ensures quality of product meets customer requirements
  • Reports non-compliant materials to QA immediately or as required by policy.
