About The Position
Slitter Operator
Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience with slitting operation.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
- Experience operating measuring devices such as: calipers, micrometers and ovality gauge.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and Slitter operation.
Responsibilities
- Examines raw material and slit coils for defects such as chipped edges or marred surfaces.
- Measure master coils and finished slit coils to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
- Operate the Slitter equipment and perform set ups during change overs.
- Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Collect and maintain production data.
- Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.
- Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
- Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
