About The Position

The Seasonal Wholesale Cashier’s primary role is to handle all wholesale transactions at the main warehouse, including monetary exchange. They will verify all credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and that the proper person is using the card and handle all monetary transactions. Wholesale Cashiers are also responsible for counting the contents of the cash drawer/register at the end of each shift, keeping receipts, transaction records (deposits/withdrawals), and sales records. May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low. Cashiers will also stock/restock, clean restrooms/breakrooms and complete other duties as assigned. A Cashier Supervisor or Manager/General Manager will manage wholesale cashiers.

Requirements

  • Basic Math – ability to understand and solve basic math problems, especially within cashier transactions – ability to add, subtract, and figure out percentages.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills – ability to engage/greet customers, present our specials and answer questions the customer may have.
  • Product Knowledge – learn minimum basic knowledge about fireworks and be able to share that with customers.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, climb, and walk during work hours.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time during shift at cash register.
  • Customer Service – positive attitude and the ability to help customers with their needs, answer questions and resolve basic issues as they arise; ability to work with upset/unhappy customers is a plus.
  • Dependability – ability to manage time - arrive on time for shifts, take breaks as scheduled, and count down registers promptly.
  • Basic to intermediate computer knowledge and the ability to use store cash registers.

Nice To Haves

  • Point of Sale Systems (POS) – experience with POS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handle cash and credit transactions with customers including using a money counter.
  • Scan goods, enter customer orders on the computer/register, and collect payments.
  • Ensure pricing is correct.
  • Issue change, receipts, exchanges.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
  • Make sales referrals, cross-selling products, and introduce new ones.
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide customers, and provide relevant information.
  • Coordinate customer orders with warehouse associates to ensure a smooth purchasing process.
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the establishment.
  • Maintain clean and organized customer service/showroom areas.
  • Keep reports on transactions.
  • Answer customers' questions and get a supervisor if the answer does not solve the issue.
  • Bag, box, or wrap packages as needed.
  • Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Clean breakrooms, showrooms, and other areas assigned by supervisors/management
