We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Seasonal Steward. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Steward is responsible for ensuring the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware. They will also help reset the kitchen for the next shifts by ensuring that kitchen and equipment is clean and ready to use. Always presents a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters. Provides impeccable guest service to all guests Clean up spilled food, drink and broken dishes, and remove empty bottles and trash. Clean food, dishes, trays, and silverware from kitchens and supply departments. Follow all health and sanitation guidelines. Assist cooks and servers as needed. Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, trays and wash them by hand on in a dishwashing machine. Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays. Sweeps and mops floor in area as needed. Refill soap and paper towels as needed Wash stainless steel walls, doors and kitchen equipment. Separates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated trainers. Cleans out garbage cans as needed. Stocks cleaning supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Sets up banquet kitchen for events and assist with tables and buffets. Cleans and puts away all products after events. Maintains all equipment. May be assigned to various venues throughout the property depending on business needs. Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Steward team members
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations
  • All applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Guest service experience preferred
  • Food service experience preferred
