About The Position

Assist with enhancing the physical appearance and experience of the Park District for residents and visitors to our parks and facilities. This position has a minimum hiring age of 16 years old. Knowledge, Skills & Experience This position is well suited for someone with a pleasant personality. Must be reliable and show initiative, tact, and productivity. Must be able to learn the proper use of hand tools, grounds equipment and riding mowers.

Requirements

Required: High school graduate or in process.
Must be at least 16 years old.
A valid State driver's license is necessary.
Must have or obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification and Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Maintain assigned areas and facilities as directed by Supervisory personnel.
Be responsible to the Superintendent of Parks, Assistant Superintendents of Parks and any other supervisor as assigned.
Willingly work over and above required daily hours when necessary.
Operate equipment as needed or required.
Work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public and cooperating agencies, as well as fellow employees.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Assist with special events and tournaments.
Assist with athletic field preparation.
Assist with building maintenance.
