About The Position

Job Objective:  The Media Program Aide will assist with the provision of camp photography and media use and assist in the general care and well-being of campers. Additionally responsible for the care and set up of camp activity resources, supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Education: Be a High School Student or above
  • Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
  • Experience: Must have experience working with children. Must have experience in relevant camp activities. Must have general knowledge of how to care for camp recreation equipment and supplies.
  • Certifications: Must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. Must be able to complete provided training courses for camp activities as assigned, such as paintball, mountain bikes, fishing, etc.
  • Must be a Christian who demonstrates the principles of Christian living.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage time well in order to accomplish multiple tasks by a set schedule.
  • Able to relate God to campers in the natural setting of camp.
  • Ability to plan a lesson or activity.
  • Ability to teach a concept or lead an activity for children.
  • Able to guide, direct, and supervise daily duties and responsibilities of other staff members, as assigned.
  • Able to communicate well with other staff, campers and supervisors.
  • Able to walk for extended periods of time and across uneven terrain.
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting materials up to 60 pounds and carry it for at least 50 feet.
  • Be physically fit enough to keep up with daily camp activities.

Responsibilities

  • Run the Audio-Visual equipment in the chapel when camp activities are scheduled there or provide instruction to other camp staff to run.
  • Take pictures of all camp activities throughout each camp session.
  • At camper registration, take individual camper photos for identification.
  • Upload all camper identification photos to database.
  • Sort and edit photos taken as needed.
  • Prepare slide show of pictures at the end of each camp session to be shown the final morning of camp.
  • Maintain the camp camera, storage of camp photos, and delegate photography duties to other program staff when needed.
  • Share photos to be used for social media with the Youth Department.
  • Assist Program Coordinator in preparing for camp classes and evening programs as assigned.
  • Assist camp classes, activities, and evening programs as assigned.
  • Assist in the organization of storage areas as assigned.
  • Work in the snack shop as assigned.
  • At the end of each camp session, clean cabin according to check out procedures and assist in cleaning and re-set of other camp program areas, as instructed.
  • Comply with camp policies.
  • Observe the spiritual emphasis of camp.
  • Keep living quarters clean and neat at all times.
  • Practice courtesy in sharing living space with other camp staff members.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Participate in staff meetings, evaluation sessions and devotion times.
  • Must carry radio while camp is in session on your person.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Leadership.
