About The Position
Looking to earn great pay while working outdoors this summer? The Village of Lemont’s Public Works Department is hiring Summer Maintenance Workers to join our team for the 2026 season! This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys hands-on work, staying active, and contributing to the care and beautification of our community. As a Summer Maintenance Worker, you’ll take on a variety of outdoor tasks, including: Mowing and trimming grass in public areas Pulling weeds and general landscaping Picking up litter and debris Painting light poles and other surfaces Watering plants and flowers Digging and light excavation Assisting with concrete work Supporting other Public Works projects as needed Work is primarily manual labor and takes place in various weather conditions. Training and equipment are provided.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work as part of a team
