About The Position

Help create a clean, welcoming, and memorable environment for every guest at The Wilds. As a Seasonal Housekeeper, you’ll play a key role in maintaining cabins, guest facilities, restrooms, and common spaces while supporting our mission of conservation, guest care, and exceptional hospitality.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Possession of a valid state-issued identification.
  • Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Positive, professional attitude and teamwork mentality.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests while working in lodging environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple cleaning assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and cleaning protocols
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25–35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using basic cleaning tools (vacuum, mop, broom, etc.).
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Subject to the Drug-Free Workplace Policy, BMV Check, and Criminal Background Check
  • This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare guest cabins, restrooms, and facilities following established Wilds cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure all guest areas are stocked with appropriate supplies (linens, toiletries, paper products).
  • Maintain cleanliness of lodging common areas, gift shop restrooms, and public spaces as assigned.
  • Ensure rooms and common areas meet appearance, sanitation, and safety expectations before guest use.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize linens and laundry as assigned.
  • Maintain and transport housekeeping carts, ensuring adequate supply levels throughout shifts.
  • Assist with inventory rotation and proper storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Follow all cleaning procedures and chemical safety guidelines according to training and manufacturer instructions.
  • Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain secure and responsible key handling at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with Facilities, Guest Services, and Visitor Operations teams to support daily needs.
  • Communicate effectively via two‑way radio as required.
  • Strive to further the mission of The Wilds and support the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks.
