About The Position

The Events Summer Internship at Moody Gardens provides hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale corporate, social, nonprofit, and destination events within a premier hospitality and attractions environment serving over two million guests annually. Interns will gain exposure to event logistics, client coordination, banquet operations collaboration, revenue tracking, and on-site event management. This internship is designed to develop future event and hospitality professionals through real-world operational experience. This internship is ideal for students pursuing careers in: Event Management Hospitality Management Tourism & Destination Management Business Administration Marketing & Promotions Meeting & Convention Planning

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within the past 12 months) from an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during event setup and execution
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown activities
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments as event needs require

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Basic understanding of event planning processes and logistics
  • Familiarity with event management software or CRM systems preferred
