About The Position

The Seasonal Event Entertainment Coordinator is a senior-level role within the Entertainment Department responsible for assisting the Entertainment Management Team in leading the daily operation and maintenance of Entertainment venues for all presentations, special events and other Guest programming. Primary responsibilities include coordinating/calling shows, coordinating the performance and technical staff, and ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operation of the productions within the venue(s.) Additionally, they may operate audio, video, automation, special effects, or lighting equipment and coordinate Wardrobe operations during presentations, rehearsals and special events as required, assist all other production departments as needed, and provide rehearsal and performance oversight and support as directed by the Entertainment management team.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent professional work experience
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in live entertainment and event management
  • Show calling experience (experience with cirque-style, musical-comedy or improv shows a plus)
  • Possess knowledge of all production areas relevant to live entertainment.
  • Experience operating audio, video, automation, and lighting consoles preferred
  • Experience with Wardrobe Operations / Costumes preferred
  • Possess strong office computer skills. Specifically: MS Office Suite
  • Experience with Audio and Video editing software preferred
  • Ability to kneel, lift, and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces and at heights above 25’ and/or on various lifts, booms, and ladders

Responsibilities

  • Function as Venue Coordinator for Entertainment presentations as well as special events and their related rehearsals, as well as any scheduled maintenance/work calls, load-ins and strikes, as required
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all presentations in all venues, including daily checks for required safety/operational testing of all equipment, and presetting of all show supplies and equipment.
  • Accurately call the show cues and file daily reports
  • Liaise with Front-of-House (Guest Services) Staff and Performance Personnel in the daily operation of the venues, including coordinating pre-show programming and guest flow management, before, during, and after presentations.
  • Supervision of technical and wardrobe team members as related to the daily operation of Entertainment presentations and Special Events.
  • Assist Entertainment Management in keeping accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive records
  • Coordinate and communicate needs that may arise during the day with other departments throughout Georgia Aquarium, including but not limited to: Animal Training, Performance Personnel, Guest Services, Guest Programs, Maintenance, Environmental Operations, Security and Human Resources
  • File daily reports detailing the day’s activities including: any changes to the day’s schedule, deviations from SOPs, kudos or concerns with the day’s operating staff
  • Perform other functions incidental to Production operations, which may include administrative functions, other technical duties or general production assistance as needed/required.
  • Crosstrain into /perform other show related operating positions/ duties as needed to support scheduling /daily operation.
  • Train all new personnel on standard operating procedures for show operation, to include operation of audio, lighting, special effects and automation consoles and other related gear and equipment in the venue(s)
  • Execute and maintain strict quality control over the original design and creative vision/intent for all productions
  • Maintain and update as required paperwork for all lighting, special effects automation, and audio/visual systems to include show cueing, playback media, focus, inventories of expendables/supplies and inspection reports
  • Coordinate with Entertainment Management to provide for the timely ordering of necessary expendable supplies and materials.
  • Assist Entertainment Management in creating/keeping accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive records for maintenance, show reporting, and supply inventories.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair, and/or recommend outside repairs for production elements in the venue as necessary
  • Participate in and support load-ins, turn-a-rounds and strikes as needed/required
  • Support all other production departments as needed/required
  • Participate in and/or lead all production activities for maintenance and rehearsals as directed by Entertainment department team leaders.
  • Execute and maintain strict quality control over all the designers’ original design and creative vision/intent for all productions.
  • Maintain and update all lighting, special effects, audio/visual systems, show cueing, playback media, focus, inventories, replenishment of expendables/supplies and inspections.
  • Assist in keeping accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or recommend repairs for all technical elements in the theatre, as necessary.
  • Other duties as workload necessitates.
