About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively perform cashier-related functions while maintaining the highest level of customer service. The role requires maintaining a friendly and professional environment by greeting and acknowledging every customer and co-worker. Responsibilities also include accurately and efficiently completing all sales transactions and maintaining proper cash accountabilities on a daily basis, as well as effectively communicating customer service issues and requests to management.

Requirements

Ability to repetitively use arms, hands and fingers
computer experience required
basic mathematical skills required
attention to detail
ability to communicate effectively and positively with internal and external customers
Knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures.

Responsibilities

Handle cash, checks, credit cards and financing
Count till (cash) bags at the beginning and end of each shift, verifying that all transactions were done correctly and till balances at the end of each shift
Maintain the front office appearance by keeping everything neat and clean
File the daily invoices
Call the bank on all out of state checks and temporary checks to verify that the checks will clear
Call the finance company to verify information on customers account (balance due, account balance, available credit)
Copy and match all finance approvals
Process special orders and handwritten tickets
Take account payments for fabric checkouts or other misc. payments.
Perform any other duties as directed by management.
