About The Position

At Buildots, we know that growth starts with a high-performing sales team. We're looking for a Sales Development Team Lead to build, coach, and scale a team focused on one of Buildots' fastest-growing verticals; Mission-Critical projects. In this role, you'll lead and mentor a team of SDRs responsible for prospecting, mapping, qualifying, and generating high-quality business opportunities. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Enablement, and Management to refine outreach tactics, enhance messaging for mission-critical personas, and ensure the seamless handoff of qualified leads. The ideal candidate has a proven track record as a top-performing SDR, experience scaling outbound programs in the enterprise space, and a passion for developing people and processes.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience as an SDR or in a related outbound sales role
  • 1-2 years of experience leading or mentoring a high-performing SDR team
  • B2B SaaS experience is essential
  • Experience working with a start up or within a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven success in enterprise outbound sales and pipeline generation
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using CRM and sales engagement tools
  • You must be based in Chicago and willing to commit to a hybrid work arrangement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Construction Technology, specifically with Data Centres and Mission Critical projects is highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of construction or construction-tech (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Train, mentor, and develop SDRs to continuously improve performance and skills, setting high standards for outreach quality, discovery, and qualification.
  • Lead by example and provide structured feedback that fosters growth, accountability, and excellence.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new SDRs, creating a structured process that accelerates ramp-up and ensures readiness.
  • Design and deliver training programs covering the construction-tech industry, product knowledge, competitive differentiation, SDR techniques, and enterprise sales best practices.
  • Leverage industry expertise to guide outreach and messaging strategies, including market trends, competitive analysis, buyer personas, and value propositions.
  • Analyze and optimize SDR workflows and outreach strategies, using data-driven insights to improve efficiency, conversion rates, and collaboration with the sales team on account mapping and coalition building.
  • Track team performance through KPIs such as activity, efficiency, and pipeline generation, ensuring alignment with business goals and providing regular updates.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales to optimize lead generation, qualification, and handoff processes, ensuring seamless cross-functional teamwork.
  • Foster a high-energy, supportive team culture that encourages open communication, continuous learning, and shared success.
