About The Position

This role involves working closely with the Network and Network Automation team to ensure project progression on schedule, within budget, and to desired quality. The Scrum Master will also coach and mentor the team, fostering continuous improvement and ensuring objectives are met consistently. Key functions include facilitating internal and external communication, removing impediments, and acting as an intermediary between product owners, managers, and team members. The position requires strong communication to facilitate Scrum processes like Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives in a fast-paced environment. The Scrum Master will set an example for Agile methods, ensuring they are understood and consistently applied within the team, and will help platform teams become self-organizing, deliver training, and administer tools like Jira.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • 3 years Agile/IT project management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies

Nice To Haves

  • General conceptual understanding of computer networking
  • Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, preferably Jira

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Network and Network Automation team to ensure that the work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the desired level of quality
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to our team – helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently
  • Facilitates internal and external communication, removes impediments, and serves as the intermediary between multiple product owners, managers, and team members
  • Facilitates the project team through the Scrum process of Release Planning, Sprint Planning for multiple product owners, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Sets the example for Agile methods based upon the designated principles and ensures they are understood and exercised consistently within the team
  • Facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes within the company
  • Guide and coach the team on Agile Scrum principles and practices
  • Ensure the team works collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality products
  • Work with Network Automation Engineers to prioritise the product backlog
  • Fostering communication by creating channels and translating lingo
  • Helping our Platform Teams become self-organising
  • Delivering training as part of our overall transformation efforts
  • Helping administer our tools including Jira
  • Setting an example including Agile coaching
  • Conduct Daily Scrum meetings
  • Guide and develop clear Sprint standards while keeping the team engaged and on task
  • Enact Scrum values and practices
  • Provide updates on the team's performance
  • Remove impediments that hinder team progress
  • Facilitate Grooming/Refinement, Sprint Planning, Demos, Retrospectives and Daily Standup meetings for the assigned team(s)
  • Guide team to adhere to working agreements
  • Help to resolve impediments
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement by fostering empowerment and promoting best practices for platform maintenance and development
  • Create a team environment by establishing trust and transparency through collaboration & communication
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation
  • Engage team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition; encourages discussion and conflict resolution
  • Initiate, build and maintain positive relationships with IT and internal customers to help facilitate effective completion of project work
  • Partner with the appropriate team member(s) for capacity planning and resource allocation in Agile tools
  • Guard and shield the team(s) from distractions and interruptions from external interferences
  • Identify difficult sources of impediments
  • Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that are hindering the team’s progress
  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions
  • Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders
  • Track KPIs and help teams deliver high-quality products/solutions on time
  • Ensure that the team follows the Scrum framework and adheres to Agile principles
