PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to be a part of the Machine Operations Team. As the Davenport Operator A at PennEngineering, you’ll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. Join us as we build the future in Manufacturing and Engineering! As a Davenport Operator A, you will set up and operate multiple-spindle Davenport machines to perform a range of precision machining operations. This role is essential to our production team, ensuring high-quality parts are manufactured efficiently and to exact specifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in machine operation, preferably with Davenport screw machines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, gauges, and measurement tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours) and lift to 40 lbs. regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating multi-spindle Davenport or similar precision machining equipment preferred.
  • The ability to operate three (3) to four (4) machines during a shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Davenport machines to perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, reaming, threading, and related machining operations.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while meeting quality and production standards.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and tooling instructions to ensure proper setup and machine operation.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and make necessary machine adjustments.
  • Maintain tooling, replace worn components, and perform regular equipment lubrication and cleaning.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and set up personnel to resolve production or quality concerns.
  • Complete production and quality reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
