Standing Order Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Screw Machine Operator for a long-term position with a high-precision screw machine shop in Hillsboro, OR. The person in this position will perform high-precision production lathe work with parts up to 1 5/8” in diameter, serving industries such as medical, electronics, agriculture, and dental.

  • Operate screw machines to manufacture precision components to specification
  • Set-up and monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and efficiency
  • Work with materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and plastics
  • Perform secondary milling and drilling operations on CNC mills (Kitamura MyCenter Zero)
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure part accuracy
  • Inspect parts using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with routine maintenance
  • Prior experience operating screw machines or similar production lathe equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators
  • Experience working with a range of materials, including metals and plastics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • $25-$28/hr
