About The Position
The Scientist II will be a part of a fast-paced drug discovery group focused on developing new medicines for microglial targets for AD. The Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Research Unit at Biogen is seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to join a fast-paced and driven drug discovery group focused on the identification and rapid progression of novel therapeutics to humans for Alzheimer’s disease in the role of Scientist II. The AD&D RU is focused on leveraging genetics and human biology for developing and delivering innovative therapeutic intervention strategies for AD and other dementias.
Requirements
- Drug discovery experience in neuroscience.
- An in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of concepts and hands-on experience in neuroimmunology or immunology, and application of neuroimmune mechanisms in AD or other neurodegenerative diseases.

Responsibilities
- Developing new research project proposals and new technology programs with focus on neuroimmune modulation and microglial function in Alzheimer’s disease.
- Leading, designing and executing in vitro and in vivo biology strategy and experiments for drug discovery programs.
- Demonstrating scientific and people leadership; and, be able to lead from the bench.
- Working effectively and collaboratively in cross functional teams.
- Managing, mentoring and developing individuals, demonstrating ability to build alignment within project teams to deliver solutions.
